- Effective September 20, 1990, support for Microsoft operating
- systems and environments has been restructured.
-
- This change allows us to more effectively focus on the needs of our
- customers. You can now choose from a wide range of support options,
- many of which give you direct access to technical resources within
- Microsoft.
-
- For developers, some of the support options include:
-
- - Microsoft OnLine and OnLine Plus
- - Windows Software Development Kit (SDK)
- - OS/2 Presentation Manager Toolkit
-
-
- End users also have a wide range of support choices, including:
-
- - Direct system software support from the computer manufacturer and/or
- reseller
- - Microsoft OnCall for MS-DOS
- - Microsoft OnCall for OS/2
- - Microsoft Learning DOS
- - Users guides and references packaged with system software
- - A complete range of Microsoft Press books and reference guides
- - Various third-party publications and references
-
- Microsoft operating systems, MS-DOS and OS/2, are sold exclusively
- through computer manufacturers. These OEMs (Original Equipment
- Manufacturers) are responsible for providing primary end-user
- support.
-
- The level of system software support we were able to provide on
- CompuServe did not fully meet the needs of our customers. We are no
- longer providing operating system support on CompuServe. We welcome
- comments and suggestions on all of our products and, while we aren't
- able to directly respond to all comments, your feedback will be
- forwarded to the appropriate development team within Microsoft.
-
- Today you have a wide range of alternatives which serve your operating
- system support needs. The following is a partial list.
